Smithers, Pelham

Pelham Smithers, was formerly Head of Research at Cresvale Ltd and Japan Strategist for ING Barings. In the latter role he was rated the No. 3 strategist in the Greenwich Survey. During his time in Japan he was a regular contributor to Japanese financial magazines Diamond and Economist and also Beleggers Belangen in Holland. He is a regular panelist on the MoneyWeek magazine round table and is on the board of the Association of Independent Research Providers (AIRP). The team focuses on large and mid-cap Japanese technology stocks, and takes advantage of the firm's close links with Japan and academia to provide an original, independent and in-depth analysis of the sector.

Kounosu, Leah

Leah Kounosu joined Pali in the autumn of 2006, following the integration of Kensington Research into Pali International. She currently focuses on Japanese electronic components and materials companies. Prior to joining Kensington Research in February 2006, Leah was with JP Morgan Securities in Tokyo. Leah is a graduate of McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.

Hayama, Kaori

Kaori Hayama joined Pali in the autumn of 2006, following the integration of Kensington Research into Pali International. Prior to joining Kensington Research in April 2005, Kaori was a portfolio manager at BNP Paribas and analyst at UBS for small cap companies and retail, restaurants, and apparel companies. Kaori is a graduate of International Christian University in Tokyo.
